What We Look ForAbout the Safety Grant Program
The KEMI Safety Grant Program provides eligible policyholders with up to $2,500 to purchase safety equipment or fund safety training targeted at a specific task or operation. The goal is straightforward: help Kentucky employers strengthen their safety programs, reduce workplace incidents, and protect their most valuable asset: their people.
Grants are awarded on a calendar-year basis, and funds are distributed via direct deposit. Applications are reviewed monthly by KEMI’s Safety Grant Committee, and policyholders are notified of approval or denial within five days of each committee meeting.

Access our Free Safety ResourcesEligibility
To qualify for a KEMI Safety Grant, your organization must be an active KEMI policyholder with one or more employees or an included owner/officer. Grant awards are up to the amount of your total annual written premium, not to exceed $2,500. Priority consideration is given to policyholders who did not receive safety grant funds in the prior grant year.
Approved Uses
Grant funds must be used to purchase safety equipment or provide safety training directly tied to a particular task or operation in your workplace. The purpose is to address a specific, identifiable risk — not general operational expenses. KEMI will not fund items or training that occurred before the grant approval date.
Application Availability
The safety grant application is available on kemi.com on a first-come, first-served basis until all budgeted funds for the calendar year have been exhausted. The program runs January 1 through December 31 each year. Apply early to ensure your organization is considered.
The 2026 KEMI Safety Grant Program is closed.
