KEMI Safety Grant Program overview:
KEMI’s Safety Grant Program is designed to encourage and assist our insureds who wish to purchase equipment or participate in safety training that substantially reduces or eliminates injury and illness associated with a particular task or operation.
- Beginning Jan. 1, 2026, any active KEMI policyholder at time of application and grant award may apply.
- Awarded policyholders will be eligible for up to the amount of their total annual written premium, but not to exceed $2,500.
- Safety grant applications must be completed on kemi.com. KEMI will not accept emailed, mailed, or faxed copies of the application.
- Safety grant applications will be available on Jan. 1, 2026.
- KEMI will not retroactively approve funds for items previously purchased or training already conducted.
- All safety grant recipients will receive the funds via direct deposit/electronic funds transfer (EFT).
- Safety grant applicants must have one or more employees or included owner/officer.
- Priority will be given to those who did not receive safety grant funds in 2025.
KEMI Safety Grant Program approval/denial timeline:
- Policyholder completes safety grant application on kemi.com.
- Policyholder will receive a confirmation email after successfully submitting the application.
- KEMI’s Safety Grant Committee will meet monthly to review applications received.
- Policyholders applying for a safety grant will be notified of approval/denial within five days of Safety Grant Committee meeting.
- If a policyholder’s application for grant funds is denied, the policyholder will receive a phone call to explain the reason for denial.
- If a policyholder’s application for grant funds is approved, the policyholder will have 60 days to purchase the approved safety equipment and/or conduct approved safety training and email a copy of the receipt to safety@kemi.com.
- Policyholder will receive a direct deposit/EFT for the purchase within 20 days of receipt submittal.
