What We Look For
The Destiny Award recognizes policyholders who don’t just meet the bar, they set it. We evaluate each candidate across three key areas to identify the organizations that have made workplace safety a true cornerstone of their culture.

We consider a policyholder’s overall history with KEMI, including their loss ratio, claims experience, and account standing over time. A strong track record with us is a signal that safety is not a reactive measure but a consistent practice.
Safety Culture
We look for organizations where safety is embedded into the daily rhythm of the workplace through formal safety programs, regular employee training, and ongoing safety meetings. The strongest candidates don’t just follow safety protocols; they’ve created an innovative and proven safety environment where every employee understands and owns their role in keeping the workplace safe.
Leadership Commitment
A truly safe workplace starts at the top, and we look for evidence that an organization’s leaders actively champion safety not just in policy, but in practice. From budget decisions to the example they set on the floor, Destiny Award recipients are led by people who treat the well-being of their workers as a core business value.

About the Selection Process
The KEMI Destiny Award is not an open application. Each year, our team identifies KEMI policyholders who have demonstrated exceptional performance across key indicators, including loss ratio, premium history, and overall account standing. Only policyholders who meet these initial benchmarks are invited to apply.
How It Works
Nominees are identified and invited to apply. Eligible policyholders can then submit an application that provides us with a fuller picture of their workplace safety culture, including their formal safety programs, employee training practices, ongoing safety meetings, and the commitment demonstrated at every level of their organization.
Applications are reviewed, and winners are notified shortly after.
